Practice Sessions

We practice at 8:00pm on Wednesdays at the Elvet Methodist Church Hall, Old Elvet, Durham City, opposite the County Hotel (map).

These sessions are quite informal and anyone is welcome to come and have a go to see if they enjoy our dancing.

Dance outs

We receive bookings to dance at festivals in Durham City, in venues such as village halls, in pubs all over County Durham, and at open air events in the Spring and Summer months. We also sometimes organise events, and we may invite other Morris sides to these events.

We dance out around County Durham on Wednesday evenings in June and July (usually at a good pub) and at various weekend events over the summer (see Events page).

New members

We are always looking for new musicians and dancers, from as young as 12 to as old as you like so long as you can still get about town. New members are welcome at any time. Our practice season begins in September, a good time to start to prepare to dance the following summer. Examples of our publicity material are available to show to your friends or display on noticeboards.
